Which edition is this year 2020?
This is the 41st edition. The festival has an important history. Since its beginning, about 200 choirs from all over the world have taken part in it.
Who organizes the festival?
The organizers of the festival are the Burés Music Chapel and the Puig-reig Polifònica, two choral groups with a long history.
What kind of groups are involved?
Choirs and vocal groups from around the world.
Is the registration free?
Yes, it is free.
When should the choirs register?
As soon as possible, as the number of participants is limited and we will close registrations in the coming weeks.
What information is needed for the registration?
You will need to send a resume of your choir and videos or audio recordings of your performances so that we can see which style of music you sing.
What expenses will the participating choirs have to bear ?
Only the journey from your country of origin to Barcelona.
How the festival works
We ask the groups to offer two performances of about 70 minutes, which will take place in the towns of Castellbell and El Vilar and Puig-reig between July 15 and 19.
The repertoire should include both classical and contemporary pieces, but also popular songs from your country. The two closing concerts feature all the participating choirs who will offer a joint performance (about 20 minutes per choir).
How will be the trips during the festival?
The organization will provide a bus for each choir to make it easier to travel to the concerts and also to the leisure visits that will be scheduled. European choirs traveling on their own bus will have a minimum aid of 300€ for commuting during festival days.
Where are the participating choirs housed?
In hotels, in the private houses of the singers of the choirs organizing the festival and in other houses in the municipalities where the festival is held.
Where will we have the meals?
Mainly in restaurants hired by the organization.
What interesting places can be visited?
We will offer different days in which you can visit Barcelona, the Costa Brava, the Mountain of Montserrat, where you will be able to sing two songs in the basilica, and Manresa, among other points of interest.
